What “SEO ready” should actually mean on a new website

“SEO ready” is often used to mean “we filled in a plugin.” That is not enough. Search engines need to crawl the site, understand the page, trust the business, and see a reason to show it for a query.

On a new build, the foundations are structural: one H1 that matches the page’s job, descriptive titles and meta descriptions, canonical URLs, an XML sitemap, a robots.txt file that does not block important paths, and structured data that matches visible content.

Local businesses also need alignment between the website, the Google Business Profile, and how they describe service areas. Thin city pages that repeat the same paragraph do not help. Unique location content should wait until you have something true to say about that market.

Measurement belongs in the same conversation. If consultation requests and primary calls-to-action are not tracked, you cannot tell whether visibility is producing work. Analytics IDs should live in environment configuration so they are not hard-coded into templates.
